Her prey, Killie, is the charismatic leader of the Argons, a people known for their sensual auras. Infiltrating a dance troupe, gives Katina access to her intended victim. As he sits in the front row, the lovely assassin is prepared to make her move against Kiile. She enters the hall with a hidden weapon, an escape plan, and most importantly, an inoculation which renders her immune to the sensual effects of the Argons. A momentary distraction robs her of her victory over Kiile, and her accomplices abandon her to the mercy of his security guards, who apprehend her as she attempts to flee to safety.

Katina is now a captive, held in a dungeon, helpless, but rather than beg and plead, she is as sassy as ever. The handsome Kiile is intrigued by his luscious captive, so much so that instead of torturing her for information, as his parents and his bodyguards expect him to do, he moves her to a suite next to his. There Katina is controlled by a collar which tracks both her whereabouts and her emotional state, thus making it impossible for her to either harm him or escape from him. Each day, Kiile presses her for information regarding her employer, and each day she resists. Unfortunately for Katina, the sexual suppressant is only temporary, so she is increasingly susceptible to Kiile's sybaritic charms. Yet, Katina must maintain her silence, or someone near to her heart will suffer and die.

Although this novel is set in the same universe as the author's Reeka Warrior series, it stands alone quite nicely. It's a delightful romp with finely crafted characters and a twisting plotline, The suspenseful narrative fully engages the reader, and Katina is a memorable heroine, a spunky kid with a mysterious past and a strong motive for completing her mission, even as she falls in love with her intended victim. This one's a keeper.
